Presentation Students Bring a Splash of Colour to Pres
Presentation students bring a splash of Colour:
Even in Covid-restricted and difficult times, the Presentation secondary school students managed to bring joy, colour and some creativity to the walls of their school. For a full two days during November professional street artist Magda Karol from the Waterford Walls project worked with transition year students to create a mural in the school canteen. The Walls Project manage the delivery of large scale public and private artworks across Ireland and Europe, working with the best Irish and International street artists. Students got the opportunity to learn about the design process and the techniques involved in spray painting. Students submitted their ideas and reworked their initial idea several times to come up with a composition that everyone agreed on. The students worked tirelessly on the project and their skill and enthusiasm is reflected in the beautiful and contemporary finished piece. The image is inspired by a modern take on Nano Nagle, the foundress of the Presentation Order. This bold splash of colour will bring a sense of positivity during challenging times.
