Cost of entry is €5 for under 12s, €8 for all students who register with Ms Claffey by lunchtime on Thursday, and €10 on the evening.

Vote for Aileen Kent and her amazing short story

From hundreds of fantastic entries into the Eason Creates Creative Writing Competition, the panel of book experts have shortlisted a small collection of short stories as finalists.
Presentation’s Aileen Kent (Second Year Student) is one of these finalists. Her short story, ‘Argon’ can be read here Aileen’s story, Argon

The public vote will account for 50% of the total so PLEASE get voting! The closing date for voting is April 29th.
Congratulations to Aileen on reaching this stage and best of luck in the coming days.

Agenda:

Internet Safety / Cyberbullying
Internet Safety: Friendly Wi-Fi for young people; how to make a smart choice about your young adult’s online safety.
Cyberbullying:An understanding of cyberbullying, what it is, the tools to avoid it and to deal with it.

Parents will be invited to take part in Q&A’s.

HEAR & DARE.
HEAR: Information on the college and university admissions scheme which offers places at reduced points to school leavers from socio-economically disadvantaged backgrounds.
DARE: Information on the Disability Access Route to Education which is a college and university admissions scheme which offers places on a reduced points basis to school leavers with disabilities.

Parents will be invited to take part in Q&A’s.

Refreshments served at 2 pm

Doodle for Google 2015

This year’s theme in the ‘doodle for google’ competition is ‘My Perfect Day’. Students are in with a chance to get a financial contribution towards their third level education. The deadline for entries is the end of April. Here’s a sneak preview of some of our talented girl’s work!

School Calendar for sale!

Presentation Secondary School has designed a 2015 wall Calendar featuring all of our students along with a special birthday wish to every student on their birthday! This fundraising calendar will go on sale on Monday 8th December. We are very excited to show it off. It retails at €9.99. We would greatly appreciate your support!

TY students and D’Hillbillies Mud Run

The Transition Year students took part in a promotional photo shoot in conjunction with the Mitchelstown Lions Club for D’Hillbillies Mud Run. D’Hillbillies Mud Run takes place on the 1st November 2014 at Gortnahown Farm, near Exit 13, Mitchelstown to raise funds for cancer services at The Mercy. The Transition Years went to Gortnahown Farm along witth members of the Mitchelstown Lions club to try out parts of the course. The students had a great time and are looking forward to the real event on November 1st.

Transition Year Disco

Our first school disco took place in September. It was a huge success and to kick start mid-term holidays, the next disco will be held on October 24th. The Transition Years are busy selling tickets so don’t miss out. It will be held in the school’s multi purpose hall.
