Wide range of musical activities

Presentation Secondary School students enjoy many musical activities from traditional through to Choral and the annual School Musical.

Traditional Music

The enjoyment of traditional music has of recent years been reflected in school by “The Pres Trad Group”, many of whom are prize winners in Fleadh Cheoil etc. They play fiddle, flutes, low whistle, accordion and harp. These talented girls have a love of music which is infectious.

School Choir

Presentation Secondary School has several choirs. Our school choir practices regularly. It is a three-part choir and there are members ranging from 1st year to Leaving Cert. The repertoire is varied from classical to popular, as well as preparing for our school musicals, shows and masses.

Musical

We produced our first school musical “Back to the Eighties” in May 2013, and following that success, we produced “Greased Lightening” in May 2014. Students in 1st, 2nd, Transition Year and 5th Year (in both the Presentation and CBS) are involved in the school musicals , and participation is encouraged in all aspects of the production (dance, acting, singing, set design, costume design, artwork, backstage, sound and lighting, etc). Our recent productions include Annie (January 2018), Joseph and the amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat (November 2018) and High School Musical (January 2020)
