‘Laundry is the only thing that should be separated by colour’
Ms Lally and the Transition Year students from Presentation Secondary School Mitchelstown worked on the Show Racism the Red Card program researching and learning about Racism, stereotypes, bullying, integration. On completion of their research they wanted to highlight the fact that colour is only skin deep and it’s what underneath that counts. They decided that they would write a short film to demonstrate the importance of looking beyond colour.
They filmed and posted their film on Youtube using powerful messages such as ‘Laundry is the only thing that should be separated’ to highlight their message, that beneath skin colour we are all the same.
